Where should I go on holiday this christmas (must be hot/sunny) cheaply?

I'm looking for a cheap holiday. Want to spend £600 or less for 2 adults and a one year old. I have to travel in the school holidays as I work in a school, would prefer 7 days over xmas day. Must be hot. Also I don't mind basic accomodation but I need clean and safe for a baby. I can fly from most northern england airports. I've been looking at the Canaries and Egypt but as long as it's hot I don't mind where I go. Thanks

Sorry about this but your budget would not even pay the cost of a flight to Australia. Maybe use the ferry and drive to the south of France

Might be difficult within that budget, but Egypt guarantees the sunshine and is very child friendly.
Canaries can be a bit hit and miss at that time of year.

Hmmmmmm, as you're asking in the General-Australia category I'll suggest Zanzibar. Only reason being that I logged onto the www.guardian.co.uk website this morning and they had a big article about the cheap, yet classy resorts popping up there.... cheap if you live in northwest Europe that is. I have been to Egypt and do believe you won't have a pleasant experience there with a 1 year old in the mix. When my brother lived in Ireland he often took his wife and baby to Portugal... not sure where exactly, but it was easy and they seemed to have a good time.
