I am an Indian passport holder with a UK visa and would like to travel to Egypt (Cairo etc). Do I need a visa?

I am travelling to Cairo, Luxor and Hurghada in Jan. Have booked flights and tickets through a tour operator. I am aware there is entry on arrival for UK passport holders, however I am a UK visa holder with an Indian passport. Do I need to get my visa pre-arrival? What are the requirements? Thanks

Only citizens of certain countries can get a 30 day visa which allows to travel all of Egypt on arrival.
India is not among them; you need to get the visa prior to departure from an Egyptian Embassy or Consulate General.
The following documents have to be submitted:
1. A fully filled-in visa application form
2. Original passport, at entry valid for minimum 6 months plus one photocopy. The passport should have a free blank page to register the visa.
3. One passport photo.
4. An free-stamped return envelope with the address (if not picked-up in person).
5. Passage/Confirmed return ticket for Egypt or to any other country
6. Hotel reservation in Egypt
7. Visa fee in cash [£18 if applied in London; Rs.850/- in India].

The visa is valid for three months from the date of issue; the time of stay is 30 days with single entry; multiple entry visa are available at higher fee rate. The visa can be picked-up on the same day.

As has been said, you need to contact the Egyptian embassy to find out what you need.

It would not hurt to ask an embassy preferably the Egyptian or a consulate. But I travel often to Egypt and get the visa at the airport.

Yes, you are holding an Indian passport. Your UK residency does not matter. You have to get a visa before you travel. Contact the Egyptian embassy in London ASAP. Enjoy your time

if you are holding an Indian passport you will need to issue visa from the Egyptian embassy before arriving to Egypt

When i came to Egypt (I was comming from america) I had to pay for a visa, but it was really easy, right when i got there, there was a line that i standed in and i got my visa right away. I am now currently in Egypt, I live in the Giza, Pyramids area, so if you need any help at all i would be more than happy to help you. just send me and e-mail and if you would like my husband is Egyptian so he can show you around personally!! I am american living here in cairo, I hope you have an enjoyable time here! anyway no you can get a visa at the cairo international Airport it cost 15 us dollars when you arrive don't get in line go to the bank counter and get a stamp they will know what you mean and then get in line and you will be issued a tourist visa right their,
