The south is bright, full of history and traditions, people in average are more attractive and so friendly, the place is simple gorgeous....if you choose the south you will be stunned by the beauty of people and places and is not true the south is dangerous and full of mafia is just a racist propaganda the south is much more with lots of hard workers as well but people who live in the north are sad and arrogant they envy the place and they have to talk shìt about it lieng continuos without saing that in the north the crime is sometime even higher and people are scared to go out in the evening,,,they avoid to tell because they feel ashamed to admit it, in the south you can go out 'till late and feel safe...try to do that in any big north cities brrr!.... So don't believe them they say an amount of lies, we traits foregniers like kings here and that's why the most of tourists all over Europe and the world choose to retire in the south rather than the north....how can we blame them? Is a too beautiful place

well i heard that Italy is really a Beautiful country but i don't know that much about people ... anywhere you go you'll find nice people and mean people have fun at Italy ((if ur goin there))

I would say British people like Italians but don't take them very seriously. Signor Berlusconi seems a good laugh, which probably adds to that, though we think much the same of our own politician Boris Johnson. There are quite a lot of Italians in some places in Britain and I don't think anyone subjects them to real racism.
As for Italy I would say we love the country, specially going on holiday there and unlike many places, the food is enjoyed both by people who haven't very sophisticated tastes - and people who have!
If you compare France, we love the country the same but dislike the French people - and only the gourmets love the food.
All sweeping generalisations of course!

Scusa Mirco io in veneto non ne vedo di mafiosi e ci abito...corrupion everywere????Mi dispiace non sono d'accordo...Maybe in Sicily is as Mirco told but It is 'so only in the south part of Italy North and centre aren't as he says....Not all italians are mafiosi stop sayng this lay.....MAFIA IS IN THE SOUTH OF ITALY and if you've been there just for 2 weeks i don't belive thet you've understood how things goes here ..It's a difficult situation but i live here since i was born and i can swere the most of italians have just heard the word mafia.

Italians are so caldo! I must visit that country, people are so attached to traditions, they love slow food and modabuona, a friend of mine lived in Milan and told me that people is so strange and friendly, particularly with blond girls, probably because the most of italian girls are dark skinned kind Marialuisa Cucinotta, i love italia!! Hello! I'm italian.
The italy is a very beautiful country and italian people are very funny. The italian mafia is in the south of italy: Sicilia, Calbria, Puglia and Campania. In the center and north of italy there isn't mafia and criminal organizations. The italians of the north are different from southern italians, southern italians are cheaters and crooks, but northern italians are reliable and similar to others europeans. ( Sorry for my english ).

I have been to Italy many times. My grandparents are from Parma and Genoa. I find that the more South that you go, the more friendly the people are..with the nicest and most friendly people in Naples. The crime in Italy is no worse than any big city in the USA, There are places that you wouldn;t go in Boston, New York and San Diego and LA, I feel safer in Italian cities than in the US, Jusr use the same precautions, The best food is in the South.

"la musa" sono perfettamente d'accordo con te ma nn in tutto... io sono siciliana e nn è ke qui siamo tutti mafiosi... è ke i mafiosi si nascondono qui, ma questo nn vuol dire ke noi ke nn centriamo nnt siamo pure mafiosi...
i'm sicilian and i think that mafia is not everywhere in italy, because mafios people go around for italy along... =)
