I don't get EMA. fed up.?

does anyone else think this is disgusting?!
i have friends who go to college or 6th form who get £30 ema a week.
and i dont!
because of my parents income!
yet these people get whatever they want for christmas and loads of new clothes and a holiday nearly every year.
when my parents can't afford to give me and my brother the christmas they wanted to give us because they can't afford much anymore. They can't even afford to buy me and my brother new clothes when we need them. or a holiday. and i don't even get ema, and my brother wont either.
don't get me wrong, i don't mind helping them out by paying for my own clothes as i should be now i'm older. my younger brother is too young to get a job, so he can't buy his own clothes.

i feel this is a bad decision from the government, AGAIN.

i just can't believe that my family are like this when my parents work their butts off working overtime 6 days a week. my dad's a driving instructor and my mum does something to do with accounts in an office (she's not an accountant).
and my a lot of my friends mums work in shops. but they can still buy their kids more.

don't get me wrong i love my friends and i'm not trying to ***** about them. this subject just really annoys me. and i was wondering if anyone else feels the same way?

i'll probably get some grief of a few people now.

labours opinions shouldn't matter but they do.
if you haven't noticed labour have turned this country into what it is right now.

i'm not just a kid who knows nothing about politics. i've looked into it and i already know who i'll be voting for.

S.P.S, yes that's all my mates spend their EMA on also. It annoys me so much.
I know that there are some people who really do need it and they use the money on what its for. but everyone but one person i know don't need it.

occassional flashesof brilliance , of course i can't be too nosy and find out exactly where all their money is coming from.
yes paying bills, taxes etc will be much worse. and whining about £30 i don't get must sound stupid. but i hope you can see where i'm coming from.

but yes, i'm working very hard to get good grades :) and i'm also going in the navy after 6th form and leaving in 20 or so years to be a police officer. it's going to be difficult, but i can't wait.

Ed, we'd all love to go on holiday at least once every two years. we can't do that. I've been on holiday twice in my life. my friend (who gets EMA) who's mother gets a lower income goes every single year to a different country for at least a week. my parents tell me and my brothers that they'd love to take us shopping to buy us everything we need. they can never do that. i got some money from my grandmother for my birthday and my parents ask if they can borrow £200 or near there because something breaks. (the fridge, front door and oven recently broke).
The only thing we really buy is food. and still we don't have enough money.

i'm just sick of watching my parents work and get stressed out with it for nothing.
i have friends who are also in this situation and they don't get ema either.
it's pathetic and something needs to be done about it.

get labour and Brown out i say.

I agree. The government assumes that if your parents earn more than £32thousand, your parents will support you through 6th form - which isn't always the case. I know people who were on EMA who were given everything by their parents anyway, and used the money to buy beer and clothes, whilst some who didn't were forced by their parents to work long hours every evening and weekend, buy their own school stuff and clothes and so on, which doesn't seem very fair. I think everyone should get it, or no-one. After all, if you've managed to put your kid through to GCSE, it's not like A levels are an more expensive. Why don't the government just increase child tax credits for those with kids in 6th form, or something?

Most of the people I know who received EMA spent it on booze, clothes, drugs, or saved it up to buy something big like a Wii or playstation.
