hi there sweetie, you seem very upset in your question and its non of my business why you want to run away but honestly wee pal its not worth it at 17 years old there is nothing stopping you leaving wherever you are but to go to spain with the limited funds you have you would be leaving yourself extremely vulnarable,im guessing you would be going by yourself??think it about it for a moment if you only have enough money for 1 weeks accomodation and 100 pounds(150 euros) to spend on food you are going to have to find a way to make money after that runs out,,being a young woman and alone in a strange country will leave you open to being exposed and perhaps lured into ways of making money that will only make you feel worse than you do right now,,if you need to get away from your situation there are places like womans aid, social work etc that will help you,,why dont you get a return ticket and take a break in spain for the week and give yourself that time to concentrate on yourself and what your wants and needs are then when you return you will have a much clearer view of what needs to be done i wish you lots of luck and i hope everything works out for you

My brother lives in spain and hasn't worked for over a year - and he is a fluent spanish speaker. They have the highest unemployment in europe at the moment and are really struggling in the recession. There are no jobs and given that it is out of the tourist season there will be no part time bar or restaurant work - although even during peak season there is apparently no work. The tourist industry is struggling so unless you have a particular skill you can offer I think you would find it extremely difficult to get work to support yourself and would not recommend it at all at the moment

    nope.

You aren't legal to work there.

Even people who ARE legal to work there, and have a reasonable expectation of FINDING work, take enough money to live on for about 3 - 6 months, because it can take that long to find work IN THE BEST OF TIMES, which deep in recession, these are not!

Do you even speak Spanish? How do you think you would get along? You can't sign a contract (as in, a lease on an apartment).

I don't think you are supposed to leave your home country until you are 18, EU laws, notwithstanding.

    Forget it just now.
You are under 18 so no bar jobs.

Like cq's brother, I have been looking for work here for so long I have forgotten when I started. There is no work. (How do you think I have time to waste on YA?)

    No Spanish? forget it.

The Government encouraging mass imigration has not helped. It means that there are no unskilled jobs for anyone.
