Egypt - cost of essential stuff? UK debit/credit cards accepted?

Would anyone be able to advise what budget I should allocate for a week holiday in Sharm-el-Sheikh with a planned visit to Cairo (possibly by bus)? The flight and B&B hotel has been booked already. Just need to roughly know how much I would need to spend for evening meals in normal places or little supermarket purchases.

Are UK debit/credit cards accepted in stores or cash points?

Would appreciate your kind advice.

Hi there, I returned from Sharm in October. We were AI but ate out often. An Italian 2 course meal with 2 beers each worked out at £25 for two. There is TGI, Pizza Hut etc too which is slightly cheaper than the UK. You do have to pay tax on beer so be warned of that side.
In our hotel we had an ATM which let you take out local currency. We found it was a better rate over there too.
We spent £300 on food and drink outside of the hotel on five occasions.
