Can somebody tell me something to do in Sunderland on Saturday night for a date i.e. good restaurants etc?

With regard some other answers, it has been proven that Sunderland saturday night is better than Newcastle, look at all the TV programmes out there focusing on the geordie lasses with hardlys anything on, not acting very lady like and all the fighting and disturbing of the peace, dont believe me check out the crime statistics somewhere on the web.
sorry about that, anyway, it depends on what you like, Amore is lovely award winning itallian restaurant and good prices, for a date you could always go to the pictures or the new bowling centre, its very good and if it is a first date you dont have to sit and look at each other all night, at least if you dont have anything to talk about you can talk about the bowling!!!

are you having a date with your brother or sister, if not you wont fit in when going around that dump, try going to a real city

If you want a good restaurant go to Newcastle, sunderland doesn't have any.

Go to sunderland dog racing! its a great laugh, it has a huge bar and sells tasty food.

get drunk and have a few bets, i normally bet about £1 each race so i dont spend much money the whole night.

cost about £5 each for entry.

It depends on your budget. I've heard the Prickly Pear is very good and run by an ex-Masterchef winner (its near the old Masonic Hall by Mowbray Park)
Nandos or Franky and Bennies are good safe bets for a relatively unflashy meal (theyre near the cinema)
The Tretoria Due (might be misspelt) down by the Marina is nice.
