Once you have arrived at Heathrow Airport, get on the Tube (the underground train system) at Heathrow Terminal 3 and take the Piccadilly Line to either 'West Kensington' or 'South Kensington' stations or, if you need to go to Kensington High Street (the main shopping area) you will need to get off at 'Earl's Court' station and jump on the District Line for one stop (north) and get off at 'Kensington High Street' station. So it really does depend as to which part of Kensington you want to go as to which of the above stations you get off at...hope this helps! :o)

From LHR to Kensington by Tube - see Tube Journey Planner below. . . .

At Heathrow go to the Undergound ticket office and ask for a ticket to Kensington. The Piccadilly line goes directly from Heathrow to South Kensington Station. You need to look at a map of London and see which part of Kensington you need to get to. If you have a lot of luggage a taxi will be the easiest option to get you to your final destination from the underground station.

I, in general, agree with the other answers. It does depend on exactly where in Kensington you need to get to, and how much luggage you have.

Personally I'd go Piccadilly line to South Kensington ( underground, also called 'tube' ) and then take a taxi ( also called ' Black Cab ' ) if it seemed too far to walk from the tube station to your final destination.

A London A-Z ( street map and directory ) is a wise investment - a thousand times more useful than most guidebooks.

Take the underground from Heathrow to South Kensington. Kensington is quite a large area, so depending on where exactly you need to go you need to decide whether this station is the nearest. If you need High Street Kensington, then you would need to change at Earls Court and take the District and Circle Line one stop from there.

You can get to South Kensington on the Piccadilly Line of the Underground direct from Heathrow. If you wish to go to Kensington High Street or West Kensington you'll need to change on to the District Line at Earls Court
