Almost homeless in las vegas,, any suggestions of where i could go or who to contact?

hi my name is leslie, i moved to las vegas on the 26th of october. my fiance lives here and told me that the church he was working for was going to get us an apartment on the 5th of november. i was having trouble finding a job back home and that las vegas was booming with jobs. i jumped on it. we used everything we had for my plane ticket and 10 days at a hotel. come the 5th the church said the funds were short. luckily for me my sister has a friend here and is letting me stay here for a little bit. my fiance had to go to a shelter.prior to me getting here he was living with his brother but his brother moved back to new york. ive been online day and nite putting applications in even for jobs that i am not quailified for. i have no money for the bus to get around. if you have any suggestions that would be a blessing in its self

While in Las Vegas your best bet is to dial 2-1-1 (if the call doen't go through, try a land line instead of a cell phone) or go to this web site. https://uwayreno-portal1.communityos.org…

At the web site you have to enter a key word then select "Clark County" and then Click "Go"

They have all sorts of help there. Their categories include:
* Basic human services (food, clothing, shelter, rental assistance, utility assistance)
* Physical and mental health resources (medical information lines, crisis intervention, support groups, counseling, drug and alcohol treatment, Medicaid/Medicare, maternal health, children's health, insurance)
* Employment support services (unemployment benefits, financial assistance, job training, transportation assistance, education programs

Note: The above includes shelter, food, employment, and transportation among many other services.

Good luck, Leslie.
