anyone suggest a nice quiet place to visit in scotland somewhere out the way but nice wifes never been to scotland so want to surprise her

I have been and it was the best most relaxing holiday i ever had , you can either rent a room in the big house or have a cottage like we did, its not 5 star standard but its comfortable,clean and truly authentic with all the mod cons you need , you will love it and the surrounding area is gorgeous .

I haven't used this hotel - I was in the youth hostel just along the beach - but the place is fantastic. Very quiet, very out of the way. To get there you will have to drive, but the drive itself is through some wonderful scenery. Its on the north east of the Isle of Skye.

The beach down below the hotel is full of fossils and behind you have the amazing mountains that you can see on the photo. On the other side of the island you can go to Dunvegan and see the seals

There is a lovely place called Pitlochry, a quaint town, with lots of craft shops and hotels. The lochs and mountains are there, such a beautiful place, I am sure you would love it.
