What are the best indie bars in Manchester?

I'm after a place that plays good indie music and has a good young vibe ! can you advise me on any places. Thanks and also is the Madchester/indie scene still alive there?

try these for decent music!

www.thenorthernpub.co.uk and a few others around it

www.mojobar.co.uk is great for music but can get packed! Go on a Thursday for the best night

Or got to my local - the City Road Inn (I am joking here, it's a dive, but the jukebox is alright!)

The madchester thing is still going but only in a "Madchester / Hacienda retro night" at some clubs like the Ritz.

The Brickhouse on Whitworth Street West still keeps it alive most weekends though!
