Thurgoland is a village and civil parish in the Metropolitan Borough of Barnsley in South Yorkshire. The village has one primary school, the Holy Trinity (Church of England) and a Methodist Chapel.

Thurgoland is located on the north side of the River Don, about 7.5 kilometres (4.7 mi) south west of the town of Barnsley and 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) north west of Sheffield City Centre. The village sits on a hill overlooking a bend in the river at about 250 metres (820 ft) above mean sea level.
