no you do not need an adult, I rode an airplane by myself when I was 3, because my parents divorced, and blah blah blah, so yeah you don't need parents, but they do need to buy your tickets, and sometimes airlines require a signed letter saying that you can ride alone.

You technically dont, but you will need parental permission to travel internationally (all of you except the 16 year old I believe will). Real question though is, why would you want to travel alone- thats a huge risk. I am not sure which form that is to get signed- but I know you need one. My parents would NEVER allow me to go overseas without an adult at that age, and didnt want me to go alone even when I turned 18 but didnt have a choice to let me go.

Also- how are you planning to get around- if your staying in one city like New York, then your fine, but other then that, you wont get to see much because the train system here isnt near as good as yours if your in Europe. (It does the trick, but its expensive and also not all major cities have local trains- just busses which are pretty sketchy (especially at night). Youll have to stay near the city centers, and thats expensive to do. Our cities arent walkable for the most part like yours are if your in Europe.

Kids under 18 cannot rent hotel rooms in america. also...it would be way too dangerous for the 3 of you to travel without an adult. You would not be able to do it without parental permission ( and hopefully your parents would not allow such a thing), and you would not be allowed to rent hotel rooms. If you are simply going to fly over, be met by adult friend or family member, and stay with them...that would be different.

Most majors in the USA it's 15, DL and SW however are 12.

BA(domestic) is also 12. INT. was not shown on this chart. Just call them as it MIGHT also be 12.

Also check US requirements for entry as has already been mentioned.

    Note the term "Unescorted Minor"

As far as I am aware most airlines will not let children under 16 travel without an adult, nor would they let a 16 year old be responsible for younger children on a flight.
