What does a "double size bedroom" means?

A room with a double size bed or a room with two single size beds?

It means it should be big enough to fit a double bed in it.

I have seen some supposed double rooms though that would not take two single beds.

Best to view if you can, or get the exact measurements of the room.

it can fit 2 double sized beds and to drawers

it means you can only fit a kids bed into the room, and then you can only open the door, not do much else.

Having worked n that field once... A Double be is a FULL size bed. Its a bit bigger than a twin and SMALLER than a queen. If 2 people are small enough they can share the bed.. but I'd pu the bed against the wall just to make sure someone doesn't fall off!

Having looked at the other answers, be prepared to be "surprised".
We booked an hotel room near Earls Court for the duration of the Boat Show one year; the room was described as a "compact twin-bedded room".
It was about the width of a narrow boat with the beds one behind the other - just enough room to get out and dress beside the beds.
Ask for dimensions.
