I am living in australia but my son is not entitled to an aussie passport?

i am irish and have to travel soon do i have to apply for an irish passport for him? does he go on my passport? how do i apply for an irish one from australia??

If your son isn't eligible for an Australian passport, then you will have to apply for an Irish passport for him.

He may also be eligible for citizenship and a passport of the country of his other parent if that is not Ireland.

There are two questions to answer here. First is where was your son was born. The second is that most countries will consider children born of citizens to be a citizen reguardless of where they were born so you need to see if Ireland has the same laws. If not, he would qualified to obtain a passport of the country of his birth. z

he can't travel on your passport. go to the irish consulate and get him his own.
