Do I need a Visa to land on New Zealand during my transit flight to Australia ?

Hi all...
I'm from Palestine. I want to make a flight arrangement from US to Australia. I wonder if I need a visa to land on New Zealand airport for transit.

You may Transit Without Visa (TWOV):
A visa is required, except for those travelling to Australia (within 24 hours) as an immediate or final destination after New Zealand and holding a valid visa for Australia. Leaving the airport transit lounge is not allowed. Passengers must hold tickets with reserved seats and all documents required for their onward journey.

If you're spending less than 24 hours in transit in a country, sometimes you will need to apply for a transit visa.

However, according to the New Zealand Immigration website, you don't need a transit visa if your next destination is Australia - which it is, so you should be fine!

i wouldn't of thought so, as long as you don't leave the airport

however, and i'm not being racist here, due to the area your from, Palestine, it might be worth contacting the local New Zealand embassy and just ask them. Palestine is a fairly violent area recently, and due to heighten security then i would definantly ask at the New Zealand embassy

No you won't ...it will only be a brief stopover for refuelling & they will require you to disembark the aircraft & wait in the transit lounge.

You may have an opportunity to check out the duty free shops...

If you do not go through customs or imigration and are in transit no visa is required. You will not cross the line into the country.
