In all honesty you will have no trouble getting served drinks at that age i shouldn't be saying that tbh but although the laws are in place they don't really follow them as strictly as they do in the UK so you and your mate will be fine.Just be careful x

OK 18 is the age for drinking in Spain.

BUT you do not have to drink alcohol in bars and clubs. Don't worry, you will pay just as much for a Coke as you will for a short, and non-alcoholic cocktails are very expensive, so the club or bar will not lose out.
Note. Dam Sin (Great name in English!) is the best non-alcoholic beer in Spain and is becoming more noticeable in bars because of the new drink - drive laws. It is seen as responsible to drink it and it only has 30 calories.

I have always that if you arrive at a club dressed , 'smart, expensive, casual' and act in a dignified manner, they will usually let you in.
It is amazing what well dressed, well behaved people can get off with!

Every time I've been abroad I was getting served. I was going clubbing at 15 in portugal and I know that many bars aren't too strict in spain. Not too sure about clubbing but most of Europe is a lot less strict than the UK itself. Im sure she can blag it anyway.. Why not look at some blogs on google and see what previous people have written about Magaluf clubbing (if you haven't already) Have a good trip!

Laura, the Spanish girl, is quite right, I go to Spain quite often and from what I've seen as long as you aren't sitting in a pram sucking a dummy they will serve you alcohol in most bars without batting an eyelid, certainly at 17, and nobody asks for ID like they might in this uptight country of ours.

A 16 year old can drink wine or beer. In fact they can legally drink any alcoholic drink that is below 18% by volume.
Many people believe that the age limit is the same everywhere in the EU, but that is incorrect.

Are you asking us for permission to break the law?

Cause we really can't give it to you.

And, well, it's breaking the law.
