Are there lots of spiders/bugs in Darwin, Australia in December? (which I hear is the wet season)?

I want to go visit someone I miss very much in Australia but my terrible fear of spiders is sort of putting me off but i hear in the wet season there are less of them. Would you advise someone like me to go to Darwin, Australia?

There are no more spiders in the Wet season then there are in the dry.
You barely ever see them, and if you do, they're mostly not harmful.
There are a fair few bugs, but usually they hang around lights etc at night, and dont annoy you during the day.

I'd advise you go there. I hate bugs and spiders, and I live near Darwin, in the far far north of Australia, and have no problems with them in the Wet.

Enjoy your trip :)

Hope I helped..
