New motorcycle. Electric Start Problems.?

Hi there,

I have just bought a new motorcycle from an import dealer. The bike is a Pulse Rage 50: http://www.pulsemoto.co.uk/view_LK50GY-2.php.

The main problem with the bike is that when I attempt to start it with the key in the ignition, when I press the electric start button on the handlebar, it makes the electric sound and doesn't start (as if it attempted to start but couldnt). The bike also does not start when using the remote starting button on my key fob. However, the bike does work with the kick start.

Does anyone know why the bike doesn't start using the electric start button and/or remote starter on my key fob.

Also, I seem to be having problem with the bike alarm. It seems to go off when I put my key in and turn it to the ignition position.

Your help is much appreciated,
Thanks,
Oscar

Hello.

This could be one of multiple things.

Yes you could have an electrical problem however this isnt likely.

It sounds like a flat/dying battery. Try some jump leads on it and see if it brings it to life.
Riding the bike for about 20 minutes(open roads etc) will then charge up the battery to a nice level.

Another thing it could be is the kill switch(red usually) make sure this is in the off position otherwize the bike will never start.
Check you are in neutral because it could be the "side stand kill switch"(this is the same as the kill switch + safety feature so you dont ride off with the stand down). Have a go at starting it in neutral with the stand up.

If it is none of the above then you could have some wasted spark plugs and they arent sparking - therefore no start.

Make sure to give it some fuel when starting or some choke (it will need it now it is colder)!

If you still cannot sort the problem go back to your dealer and see what they have to say about it.

Good luck.
