Do my son need passport to go to Edinburgh?

i am going to Edinburgh with my 14 years old son, i have got a passport but my son hasn't
i live in london!!

Citizens of Ireland and the UK under the age of 16, do not need a photo ID, if travelling with their parent/guardian on domestic flights.
This applies to flights with Bmi, British Airways and Easyjet. You don't need a passport either, any government issued photographic ID would do. Should you fly with Ryanair you would both need to have a passport.
