Food options on a week end with cross country trians?

I, too, certainly wouldn't rely on it. Take your own, apart from anything else it'll be cheaper!

Since Arriva Cross Country from Virgin, they have been removing the shops from the trains used. I would take my own food (especially as you are travelling late on a Sunday when on board catering can be sparse)

There should be a refreshment trolley passing through the train, but occasionally these don't appear so to be absolutely safe buy a little food before boarding
