Generally speaking, all mechanical and electrical components that fail as a result of a manufacturing or material defect should be covered for the duration of your warranty. It varies from manufacturer to manufacturer, but there is normally a long list of things that are not covered, such as:
parts replaced during servicing (filters, spark plugs etc)
wear and tear items (brake pads, wiper blades, alternator belt etc)
trim (seat coverings, loose fitting trim or mouldings)
bulbs
tyres
Issues to do with the fit of body panels (door locks and hinges, water ingress) will normally be covered for a shorter period. The same goes for adjustments (wheel alignment, headlight alignment).
The body and paintwork will be covered by a separate warranty: there will normally be a period for paintwork and a longer corrosion/perforation warranty.
There are so many different warranties that it is impossible to cover everything here. If you have any questions, you are best to speak to the service manager at your dealership.
