Want to move to another country, what do you think about Turkey?as a British citizen, is it easy to live there?

Hi, I want to escape our lovely and cold England and move somewhere where people has a little bit more class, is safer for kids to go and play outside, don't always have to be scared of thugs and knives and guns etc. But we are an average family and always have been working hard to provide for our family and live a good life but i can't imagine having to pay for kids schools, private healthcare, everything else! We always managed here, and never had to claim benefit or anything like that but i don't know how we are going to manage elsewhere.
Now my question is: which country (AND CITY PLEASE) would you say we should move to? I thought maybe Turkey is a good idea but not sure! now can you help?

Additional Details

Thanks for comments, you didn't tell me which cities tho! and the 6 months here and 6 months there idea is great but I can't do that because of my kids and their school commitment. oh and about USA, not sure if it's "SAFE" for kids. not where average families can afford to live anyway. and obviously being British only allow us to stay there for a limited time! Any thoughts on SPAIN?

Well - Turkey. A nurse I worked with was widowed, and she sold her house in Sussex and with the proceeds bought a smaller house in Sussex and a small house in Turkey, and she spends half the year here and half the year in Turkey. The climate suits her, the culture suits her, and the value of her Turkish property has shot up in the last couple of years. The house is big enough to have people to stay, and Turkey is a country she had always enjoyed going to. The cost of living is not high, she likes the food, she likes the people, she likes the history, the architecture. I don't know how good she is with the language, but it is always there to be learnt. She feels safe there (as a single woman) and has never met any trouble.
Personally, I'd live in France but it does have its fair share of social problems, unemployment, immigration, etc - I just love the language and the landscapes!
Good luck with your choice.
