Watched a guy crack egg yolks all over his car tyres today. What is the reason for this ?

Putting egg whites in your radiator was one of the less reliable ways of dealing with a leak.
So maybe this guy misunderstood and thought it could work with a puncture.

But never, ever, rule out stupidity

Probably a home spun tyre cleaning remedy from a car advice book of the 1950s or something.

Nowadays you can go into Halfords and buy something better in a can - less messy, probably less expensive, and your tyres won't smell of rotten eggs afterwards.

When you drive, the tires get hot. You might even been able to cook the eggs this way. However, you should not eat them after doing so, because tires are covered in toxic things from the road (such as antifreeze that leaked from other cars before the tires drive through it).
