Rather sad double suicide, is it bad I understand them?

http://uk.news.yahoo.com/21/20091103/tuk…

Father, then daughter on the same tracks.

I can understand it without knowing the details. Is that bad that I understand them?

understanding something is never bad. Automatically justifying them just because you understand them, is. be careful as some behaviours are not to be considered as coping mechanisms.

I really have no idea what you mean but you're the only one who answered.
coping mechanism is any sort of behavior that may help someone to solve a problem. for example one such mechanism for escaping life's problems is suicide (it works. sort of).
justifying an act may well lead you to mimicking it, while understanding it shows a very original human emotion: empathy.
