Yes of course he should. He'd have been already in with a chance if Newcastle hadn't already had the best goalkeeper in the Premiership all those years!!!

You can't put a Championship keeper in goal for England, he isn't getting the day-in day-out international quality practice that he needs.

Of course he should,for all the years he's dedicated to Newcastle.But I don't think he would,because there are better keepers than him.
