Record stores in Manhattan, NY?

Question

I'd like to buy some CDs when I'm in New York, but I have no clue where to go. I'd like to go somewhere thats near my hotel as I don't know the city well. The address of my hotel is 811, 7th Avenue, zip code 10019. Can anyone help me out?

One of the most famous record stores in all of New York City is right near there, Colony Records, on Broadway at 49th St., and it has been there, and has been in business since, like, forever, so it should definitely be one place you go to (see link, below), and, other than that, see the 2nd link below for a directory of CD stores in New York City.
