How far is Choeng Mon Beach on Samui island from Koh Phangan Island? How long would it take to get there?

looking at staying in a hotel on choeng mon beach on samui island, but want to go to the Full Moon Beach Party on Koh Phagan on New Year- cant seem to find information on the internet to see if this is affordable/ possible. Not sure how far it is!

It's actually very close. There are a few piers that provide boat services from Koh Samui to Koh Phangan. It only takes about 30-45 minutes depending on the type of boat and which pier you leave from, plus the time it takes to get to the pier. The Big Buddha Pier is close to Choeng Mon, with Maenom a little further and Nathon the furthest, although not that far. The fare is around 115 Baht to 250 Baht or so depending on which boat you use.

I was living there many years. When there is a fool moon party in koh phangan there will be many many speed boat at Big Buddha Pier an Bophud pier leaving every hours from the late afternoon all night.
The speed boat will take about 15-20 minutes to go there.
You will also find plenty of taxi driving from Choeng Mon to the piers that nigh.
At the pier they will try to sell you a return ticket. I suggest you to buy only one way ticket so you are more free to return when you like.
The next morning there will be many boat to return Samui anyway and if you take the big boat at 10am it is also cheaper.

Don't bring too much money there, just the right amount for the night and bring your passport.
Leave at your hotel safe any valuables because in Full moon party there are many drunken people and you never know.
Anyway I've been there few times and it was great.
There are many police there, that why is a quite safe place to hang out.
    Have a fun
