Ok, so im planning to do some travelling, just wondered if anyone had done anything similar to this?

Ok so the route would be driving from bristol uk to banjul (the gambia). Has anyone done anything similar? Which route did or would you take?
Im thinking ferry from uk to france, drive down from france into spain. Ferry from spain into morocco and right the way around the western coast down into the gambia. My only concern is obviously having to drive through the sahara (well round the outside on the coast) but its either that or drive through Nigeria/niger and sierra leone.

What are you thoughts? Still in the planning stage so any thoughts or suggestions are welcomed =-D

Last summer, I traveled across the Straight of Gibraltar from Spain to Morocco. The fast ferry travels across the straight in about the 35 to 40 minutes. There is another ferry which is cheaper but the travel time is about and hour and a half. I took the ferry from Tarifa, Spain to Tangier. There are also ferries between the industrial port of Algeciras but Tarifa is closer to Tangier.
