Your hotel is almost centrally located from 3 different RER/Métro stations. The easiest transition might be to take the RER B from Gare du Nord to St. Michel and connect to the RER C exiting at Javel. You could also take the RER B to St. Michel and connect to M10 with Charles Michels as your destination but you'll need to make a long tunnel connect (on foot) from St. Michel to Cluny as the M10 and RER B do not otherwise connect.

If the zone 1-3 travel card to which you are referring is the Paris Visite, I might suggest you instead purchase a carnet de dix (10 individual one way tickets) which at 11.60€ is cheaper than the 14.40€ Paris Visit. The carnet option is valid for zone 1-2 travel (sufficient for most tourists) yet provides ample transportation for a 2 day stay.

As this is your first time to Paris, you might strongly consider the 10-15€ it might cost you to take a taxi from the Gare du Nord to your hotel. The RER/Métro is not really difficult but with luggage in tow and the possibility of becoming disoriented, the simplicity of a short taxi ride has appeal to some.

Hello. You can do this in a couple of ways. The quickest is probably to take the RER B towards either Robinson or Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse - it doesn't matter which, since you're not going nearly that far - and then transfer at Saint-Michel Notre Dame, where you'll take RER C towards Pontoise. Your stop will be "Avenue du Président Kennedy". Simply cross the bridge (Pont de Grenelle), and your hotel is practically right there.
If you prefer to take the métro instead of the RER (not much reason to do this in my view, just throwing it out there), you can also take métro line 4 towards Porte d'Orléans, and transfer to line 10 (towards Boulogne) at Odéon. Your stop would then be Charles Michels, which is a short walk from your hotel, albeit slightly longer than the RER station, and coming from the other direction.

    Enjoy your trip!

EDIT: Sarastro's answer is valid as well. Your hotel is roughly the same distance from either "Javel" or "Avenue du Président Kennedy" RER stations. You can confirm this for yourself by going to Google maps and entering "61 Quai de Grenelle 75015 Paris".

I agree with David - but for your information there are renovation works at Odeon from the 2nd November till Christmas and line 4 will not stop at Odeon. Be warned!
