What is it like in the Dominican republic we v just booked?

we booked a hotel 5 star called Iberostar Costa Dorada just the two of us in our 40's

The Dominican is the most beautiful country! They have the bluest water, the whitest sand, the heat is crazy! It's a very good vacation if you want to relax or party. Be prepared for the mosquitoes! Bring a bug repellent, sunscreen (I find that Neutogena SPF 85 works great), and sun glasses. As for clothes, pack as light as possible. Shorts, tanks, capris, tees, etc...You will love the food too. Be prepared for eating a lot of rice, beans, plantains, chicken/beef and salad (that's the traditional meal). ONLY drink bottled water!! Even though I am from the Dominican, I never drink from the tap. I use to but then these boils on my body developed and swelled up a lot and now I got scars. When brushing your teeth don't swallow the water if you're using tap water. I would bring something for diarreah and constipation because that often happens when one travels. I reccoment Immodium. They are a lot of poeple if you leave the resort (like taxi men or locals) that will try to rob you so I suggest that you never travel alone especially if you can't speak Spanish. But overall, it's an unforgettable experience. Just got to be smart (as in country).

I went to Iberstar Punta Cana 2 years ago. You'll have a great time no matter where you stay. :) Although, some hotels have really clean, nice ocean water while others are filled with rocks and seaweed. The Iberostar that I stayed at was really clean, so you should be okay. The shows at the hotels are amazing and the pools are always really nice. Have a nice vacation!

Congratulations, excellent choice! The Iberostar is a very good resort. You will be at 10 min from center Puerto Plata (small town with 150.000 souls) shops, musea and so much more ! If you want to discover this beautifull side of the country by making some VIP tours (private or not) just take contact with [e-mail], they have the best for you and less expensive as in the hotels. Anyway enjoy it ! ( and don´t believe all the crap about danger and other things like that)

OMG i was just in DR this summer. im 14 and it was my first time trust me you are going to have so much fun. you should really go to callo levantado it is such a great place to go. make sure you have money. dont go out at night unless you have someone with you. be careful because there are some people that like to steal. HAVE FUN!!

Dominican Republic is amazing all the DOminicans over there are very nice and just like to be happy and have fun! lol you will enjoy it.. i love it over thereee =)

lots of sun sea and sand. dont wonder off the resort after dark, lots of drugs, pros and guns
