No spitting on pitch?

Question

I think this is ridicolous .. i mean dont spit at others but sometimes you NEED to spit while playing footy. I mean when i play i do have saliva build up in my mouth and i need to spit it out >.< The footballers are human! Do YOU think the action of spitting shuld be reprimanded?

(i think i sentenced this all wrong but i have a fever atm. so just go with it)

It's not that - I am sorry but spitting is nasty, it's not just flu but goodness knows what. Hopefully it will encourage other people to stop spitting - people are bloody disgusting in this country. Spitting needs to be stopped because the kids are copying them - among other undesirable things.

Spitting is fine as long as its directly down...its not pleasant but to take someone's right to spit is foolish!

Well this is a victory for the wife or girlfriend caught up in Sky's Super Sunday and little more. Maybe next week we'll have a recommendation towards a victory for the nans - no swearing on close up cameras!

You're absolutely right when you say you need to spit. Running in general creates saliva and it has to come out one way of another. I think so long as projectile spitting is clamped down upon, we may just survive this outbreak.

Just a thought, Premier teams had better wear protective masks against Blackburn. lol

Yes it is a disgusting habit and should be stopped. Spitting can spread other diseases like TB. It should not happen, saliva build up can be disgusting but players need to learn to swallow it. In Sweden, the footballers are now not allowed to shake hands because fears that shaking hands could also spread swine flu.

It never used to happen, also it could be done more discreetly and that awful side snot blowing.
