Would december 22nd - december 29th be a good week to?

go to the Kuredu Island Resort in the Maldives..

we would like to just relax in the sun but I'd be hoping it would be lively (like the brochure says) as well.

Well, it depends on what you are after.
Prices will be at their highest for this period, and weather should be hot & dry.
The resorts *will* be decorated for Xmas, but not as nicely as you would find in Europe or in the US (Maldives is a Muslim country after all, but they cater very well for international guests).
Some resorts might have more fun things to do at this time - live music, simple bar games, and so on, but it certainly won't be "lively" compared to EU/US. Remember that the resort is on an island, and there is no local population - you cannot go to lots of bars for varied entertainment.
Hope that helps.

Kuredu is one of the larger islands, so has more activities ect available. As for lively - think that you need to understand that Kuredu is perhaps lively compared to other islands. It may well have a band on during the Christmas and New Year period, and often extra games and activities are arranged during the day - purely optional, but is unlikely to be a happening place. So, if you are wanting lots to do, partying through the night ect, then its unlikely to fit the bill.

Do remember, the Maldives are a series of islands in the Indian Ocean. Also as for going to the Maldives over Christmas - book soon, as availability is limited.

    Good luck!
