Can someone advice on a cheap hotel around sukhuvim soi 3

I like to stay at Majestic Suites. It is on Sukhumvit near the intersection with Soi's 3 and 4. About 1500 baht or USD$45. But there are lots of hotels in this area, some cheaper. It always depends on what you want in a hotel.

Since a "cheap" hotel in some ways is subjective. Why? price versus what you have to put up with. So, even though someone recommends a place, unless they have stayed there within the last 60 days then you don't know what is really happening at any hotel. Whether its pest infestation, or remodeling or whatever. And please keep in mind, this is not like the US or Europe where someone polices the star rating. Hotels in Asia self rate. And in Asis they do use a 6 star systems so there is a wide variance on quality.

I do not stay in this area, actually I did once in 2004, at the Plaza Athenee' hotel on Wireless Road, that's a 5 star hotel, Wonderful hotel.

Nana hotel on Soi 4 is probably the best in the area. I have seen many people recommend it.

This has the best listing to see what is around that area. Watch the pricing, some of them change at 10/31/09 and some change earlier. Don't assume you are seeing their best price.

We spent a lot of time in Bangkok in August, we thought that the Narai Hotel, was better than others, it was good value, it was close to the BTS and we had Silom road to enjoy.
It was cheaper than some and it had very good staff, it was no cheaper for my thai wife to book than for myself, so I think it was a good price.

they specialise in asia, look under the accommodation section, they have everything from hostels to 5 star places, with heaps of ratings and reviews so you can trust you'll get what you want, a lot of websites for thai accommodation aren't always too truthful so its good to go by other peoples reviews/ratings.

Do you have a price in mind? The Landmark will be cheaper than many hotels in Tokyo! How much do you want to spend? Cheap means different things to different people!

Suk 11 Hostel and Atlanta Hotel might help you. Otherwise always lead with a price level you want that fits your budget and you will get rooms at that price.

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely show you great hotels at the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

Look at the Bel-air Princess in soi 5 , or look at www.hotelopia.co.uk i used them to book last month for bkk & pattaya , they are the cheapest i could find on net

If you stay anywhere near the monorail skytrain you can get around the city very quickly.

JW Marriott on corner of Soi 2. Can get a single room for only about 5,000 baht.
