Anyone been to or know about Hurghada in Egypt?

Question

I am planning on going in February 2010 and would like recommendations on hotels, places to visit and see nearby, nightly entertainment outside the hotel, shopping and excursions.

Also what will the temperature be like at that time of the year?

Any tips or anything else you can tell me. Its for a romantic break fopr 7 nights.

I went to Hurghada in the Summer, and it'll be very smart for you to go in February because it was soooo hott in the Summer, so it'll be beautiful around February. You should stay in one of the tourist areas, because the service is great, there are many places to shop, and usually their are evening shows with like a belly dancer or something

I know Hurghada well and I work in Tourism, but I need to know more details to tell you good recommendation.

I can tell you only about the weather it'll be warm during day time and cool at night. Expected to be between 25 and 15 C. You can swim in the sea and sun shines most of the days. Few days may be quite windy or cool to swim. In 1 week you can expect at least 4 days suitable for swimming.
Not much places to visit inside the city but you can have over day excursion to Luxor and over day to Cairo.
Inside Hurghada you a sea trip can be good, but I don't recommend it for relaxation in winter specially if you are not with a group of friends together.
Most of the 5 stars hotels offer entertainment in the evenings and you can also go to discotheques and pubs beside shopping areas.

1 Nationality or where you are coming from
2 Alone or with others
3 Hotel class required
4 Leisure or cultural tourism is more important for you

I could recommend other cities to you or some hotel names in Hurgahda and other activities.

I went to hurghada before. Its great if you love snorkeling and nice calm beaches. But i recomend you go there in the winter. if you go in the summer be prepared for really hot weather and a bright sun.
A good hotel would be Hor palace or any others naer that area.
