Which hotel to stay at in Las Vegas?

Hi,

We are 3 girls going to Las Vegas in Mid November and want to book a hotel tonight. We are down to Palazzo/Venetian or MGM or similar - 4*+ mid strip.

We are looking for cheap but luxury rooms and cheap pool/spa options (are pools generally free?) and it would be cool to go somewhere that offered lots of free stuff (coupons/upgrades etc)

Also any advice on good UK booking sites would be appreciated

If you want to stay in the same luxurious vein as the Bellagio, the Wynn is the belle of the Las Vegas ball. The hotel may be farther down the Strip than many of the other options, but it’s directly across the street from a mall with 250 stores, and it has its own golf course. Plus, the Wynn offers top-notch dining, drinking, and entertainment options (Le Reve is not to be missed) in a grand Monte Carlo-esque setting. Rooms can be pricey (I found rates starting at $179 in February), but you can also find discounts by visiting during the shoulder season and by staying in the resort rooms versus the tower suites.

Another contender for grandeur (at a far more affordable price) along the Strip is the Venetian, which captures the essence of Venice (including its own canal and singing gondoliers). The hotel features theaters, shops, restaurants, trendy clubs, and a casino to keep you busy, or you can

just sit by the water and watch the indoor sunset on the ceiling overhead. Since the hotel only offers suites, you’re certain to stay in the lap of luxury. We found suites starting at $139 per night during the winter, but keep an eye out for promotions for summer stays.

Two things you should know:

1. Vegas is really hurting right now with tourism numbers way down because of the economy, so a lot of the hotels are massively discounting.

2. Hotel rates are much cheaper from Sunday through Thursday than on Friday or Saturday.

You should be able to get into pretty much anything except Wynn, Bellagio, or Venetian for around $100 per night on non-weekend nights if you play around with the dates. I like the Mandalay Bay a lot, and it has a great pool area that guests can use free, but it is at the end of the strip. The Vegas hotel spas are usually very expensive.

both are very nice hotels. I personally love MGM. Its probably the best hotel i've stayed in on the strip. The Venetian is also very nice. Its located just about in the middle of the strip so you have easier access to most of the casinos. Thats the one downside to MGM, your all the way on the other side of the strip. You can take the monorail or the bus to various casinos so its not that big of a deal. Either one of those 2 are great chocies. For the price I like MGM you can get a room for $70 weekdays and about $140 weekends. Venetian is gonna be double that for sure. I would go with MGM

Venetian would probably meet your needs best, not Palazzo though, that is a way from the canl/gondolas etc, sort of like an annexe would be to a main hotel. Do not even entertain the Stratosphere unless it's for the rides! nasty,nasty place almost as nasty as the Riviera which is another to avoid! you can get discount tickets at tix4tonite.

Look for the Stratosphere hotel/casino. They have a family pool and a topless pool. Casino. Buffet. 50s Diner. Starbucks. Rides in the Sky. (piss/**** first!) Eat afterwards! Parking garage. Public bus stop out on the front strip side. Taxi stand. Mini Mall on 2nd level.

Nearly next door to the Worlds Largest Gift Shop. I don't view it that way. Most all junk from Made In China.

1 block away from the Sahara Casino with Nascar cafe and roller coaster.

"4 stars plus" and "cheap" will be hard to find on the Vegas strip. Venetian is my choice. Very nice place with shopping, casino, restaurants, clubs, good location, nice pool, gondola rides, and the wax museum.

In the middle of the strip, excellent casinos,pools and atmosphere.
Although an american firm try United Airlines Vacations they do excellent deals, have been with them 8 times now and can recommend them for service and price.

MGM can be the more affordable one and a really large property with lots of clubs, restaurants and things to do but keep in mind, this property is very large and going back and forth to your rooms can be treacherous.

They are ALL good as long as you stay at one that is reasonably new.

Make sure you stay somewhere in the middle of the strip too. It's a LONG walk if you stay at one end
