How can i get into being a cruise ship masseuse?

Hi there. I'm 20 years old from Birmingham in England. When i was 16-18 i completed a BTEC course in Travel and Tourism which has gained me the right qualifications to work abroad or on cruise ships and hotels. I am currently studying a diploma in Holistic therapies, which covers sweedish massage, reflexology and aromatherapy. I'm hoping to go further and do indian head massage, beauty, and stone therapy when i have completed this course.
Anyway.... Basically i really want to combine my two qualified areas and become a holistic therapist on a cruise liner. It's just so hard to get into. I know that i'm already half way there by being qualified, but i never know where i can find these jobs. They don't seem to be on any websites, or anything. It's my passion, and if anybody knows where i can search for them i'd be very grateful for the advice. Thanks! Xxx

Hello, these answers are correct; you can contact the cruise company directly. Never go through these sites that ask for money ect. Total scam.

However, a lot cruise companies sub-contract their spa girls through agencies. I think the biggest is Steiner (http://www.onespaworld.com/).

I don’t work for these people, so I’m not promoting them or anything. If you manage to get in touch with the cruise companies HQ then they will most likely re-direct you to their sub-contracted spa agency.

For P & O, just "google" "P & O cruise ships" - up will come a "jobs" heading.
Royal Caribbean have been recruiting extensively during the past few weeks for their new ship "Oasis of the Seas" which goes into service, in the Caribbean in December. With nearly 2.5 thousand passengers, it's going to need a lot of staff! We were on Jewel of the Seas a few weeks ago (Baltic cruise from Harwich) and many of the staff were taking 6 month contracts to move to her - which has left vacancies on Jewel.

try cruise line web sites. there's usually a section with vacancies. you could also just send out a cv on spec. do be aware of the benefits of different lines etc. eg sailing south out of Southampton they have to cross bay of biscay which sometimes can be very very rough. i was on a cruise to canary isles and the therapist couldn't hack it she had to be flown home.

The Steiner company in England operates the spas on most cruise lines. Their employees must complete their intensive 3 year program.
