Barcelona or Madrid for fashion?

which has more flare? style, fashion, liberty...

liberty as in fashion liberty, to do what you like. being democratic doesn't= liberty btw.

Having a row of top shops in Calle Serrano or Paseo de Gracia, has nothing to do with fashion.

Historically, Barcelona and Catalonia was the textile area of Spain.
For this reason , there is a long fashion tradition in Barcelona.

Franco and his gang kept fashion in Spain back in the 1950s until they left the stage.

Now with its new found freedom, Barcelona is probably the city you would prefer.Anything goes. Madrid is more conservative.

Well, it depends on what are you looking for.
If you're looking for general fashion, young designers, etc you should go to Barcelona. As someone said before, it's de fashion capital in Spain (of course, Barcelona is just a Spanish city, there's no country called Catalonia).
But, if you want: Prada, Armani, Louis Vuitton or similar, you should go to Madrid: Calle Serrano.
About fashion liberty, both are great. If you have the time, visit both!!

Barcelona is the fashion capital of Spain.

If you are going for modern and fashionable, I'd go to Barcelona.

Liberty? I don't understand what you are asking...Spain is a democratic nation with the liberty of people making the decisions.

If you are referring to, like, less accepted lifestyles, I'd say, again, Barcelona.

It's much more the modern art city. Avant garde, music scene, etc.

Mmm, Madrid, people seem to be a lot more, strange...i dunno but fashion-wise some people, especially young people are a lot more daring with fashion, I'd say barcelona is a little more stylish and conservative with the way the people dress. But you should go and check it out. saying that u will still get looks if you dress "wild" but it will mostly be from older people.

I think Madrid is in Fashion than Barcelona. Barcelona is more on arts like building structure..etc.
