Is anybody (outside of London) upset by the current British Airways advert?

You know the one - the ad that tells us BA flies more planes to international destinations than any others, in the UK. Fine language for the poor sods who live elsewhere in the UK (an area of 94,526 sq miles) who find that in order to get themselves to anywhere other than Malaga, Ibiza, and other places with two-bit hotels, which are used to the worst sort of Britons, they will have to go to London - or perhaps even Manchester, where American Airways, Virgin and other major world airlines operate from - in order to get to Rio de Janeiro, Sydney and other places blue-collar'd boys & girls can't afford?

Yes I really find it risible. Frankly BA should re-brand themselves as Home Counties Airways as they only really cater for people around London and the far South. I don't want to have to travel to Heathrow or Gatwick (2 and 3 hours drive) and pay hyper inflated car parking prices when I can get a lift to Birmingham or Manchester and fly with a foreign airline much more conveniently. There is a big market outside the Home Counties and BA have decided they don't want to compete for it. I don't travel with them unless I have to.

I wouldn't say upset, but yes it does annoy me. There is NOTHING British about "British" Airways. I have heard rumours for a while now that British Airways could re-brand themselves as simply just "BA".

Its interesting to note that you can fly direct from Glasgow to 152 worldwide destinations. Out of the 152 destinations, only one is offered by British Airways, you guessed it, its London.

I know it is ridiculous, but I have just come to accept that to go anywhere long haul that we will need to fly from Glasgow to London first. It def adds to the time and cost of every trip! :(
Just something that I take as part of a trip now but to fly from Glasgow would be amazing. Haven't seen the advert though

I might be if I let it bother me.
To be quite honest, London & its airports are an irrelevance to anybody living outside their immediate area. That's 80% of the UK population. Unless you buy a package holiday & it only offers London departures, then it's best just to ignore them & let them get on with their own thing. It's only themselves they're kidding.
For the rest of us we have decent airports which are small & usually clean & uncrowded. We can get to European hub airports such as Amsterdam, Paris or Frankfurt much more easily than we can get to London by using our much better budget airlines which the unfortunate Londoners don't have.
So why even bother about what claims adverts make in uncivilised parts of the world? We have by far the best deal.
