Flying into Shannon, where to get hotel?

Question

My parents are spending 2 days in Shannon. Where is the best place to get a hotel so that it is easy-ish to get taxi / public transport to both the airport and anywhere worth seeing in 2 days? So I guess a good central point between the two?

There is nothing much in Shannon but the airport and Industrail Estates.
Let your parents get a bus or taxi to Ennis, it is the county town in Clare. Shannon is also in Co. Clare.
There are quite a number of hotels in Ennis...The Old Ground Hotel...The Queens Hotel...The West County Hotel...The Auburn Lodge....TempleGate. Lots of B&Bs.
They can spend a day visiting Ennis town.
Go to the tourist information, and you will find enough to keep you entertained for the duration of the stay.
Why not hire a car and visit all the tourists sights, such as the Cliffs of Moher, The Burren, Bunratty Castle, Alliwee Caves.
Hope they enjoy their stay.

i don't know what town it's in but right by bunratty castle is a hotel and it's not far from the airport...sorry i don't the name.

Limerick is the closet city about 30 minutes away.
