Sydney Spending Money?

I'm in NY and leaving for Sydney in 4 days. I already booked the hotel through a package deal - just wanted to know how long would around $1500.00 last me for two weeks in sydney?

Can I rent a car for one day? Eating out? Go to all the touristy places? Etc etc.

Thanks in advance.

It is not long since I spent 3 weeks vacation in Sydney and you will have a great time there. Your cash should be enough for you to enjoy lots of the tourist places depending on what you enjoy, a boat trip around the harbour is a must getting off at Watson Bay and Manley and any other stops that take your fancy. A meal at Doyles famous fish restaurant, walk the bridge, the monorail is a good way to see the centre and walk through the botanical gardens and say hello to the fruit bats. The Australia museum is interesting if you like that kind of thing, I did.

Yes you can hire a car but walking and bus and boat will get you aroun and you will see more.

You will have a blast! Good luck.

Is this AUD$1500? Well as a tourist that would last you approx 2-3 weeks quite comfortably.

Car rental for 1 day = approx AUD$50 per day (http://www.budget.com.au/default.aspx)

    Eating out = $10 - $20pp for a casual meal
    Eating out = $50 - $100pp for a stylish meal

Touristy places = FREE for things like visiting Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Lunar Park. Entrance fees to things like zoo's and aquariums range from AUD$10 - $30

    Hope this helps!
