Respective dates were mid 1980 to mid 1981, not 1982!! sorry for the incorrect date, I had to find my old passports to verify the dates.

I'm not sure if he visited Lagos, so it might not b the person ur askin about but i knew a Dr. Verulazai (probrably not correct spelling,but similar)
