Do I Look Ok With Glasses Or Should I Get Contact Lenses?

Question

I'm 15, and i'm short sighted, i need to wear glasses because of it but i feel really self conscious when wearing them. The past two years i've not worn them outside my house and I can't just not see what i'm looking at on the board at school, so what do you think? I'm also really nervous about contact lenses, not touching my eye just having something new in my eye and not knowing what it feels like, some people say it's like an eyelash in your eye but they hurt! Please guys... need your opinions and help!

Its not that you look bad with glasses, but you look so much prettier without them!
I have acuvue (not sure how to spell that) contacts, and I never feel them (unless my eyes are dried out or something).
They're really not that bad!

Contacts are absolutely amazing. They are a bit annoying when you first put them in, but after the first couple days it feels like nothing is there. The first time you try to put them in and take them out, it usually takes like 10 or 20 minutes, but each time you get better. I can get mine in and out in about 10 seconds now.

You look GORGEOUS without them, but I think you should get some more stylish frames, maybe black rims, and then switch it up between contacts and glasses.

Glasses make you look studious, which could be an advantage!

hey u look great with glasses!
and contacts dont feel like that when u get used to them but they are a pain in the .... they fall out u lose them need to clean them lots and sometimes make ur eyes worst.good luck

Without the glasses there is SO much of a difference! You are SOO pretty and WAY prettier without them. Those glasses cover up so much of your face somehow..

I think contact lenses for you! I wore glasses for a long time, and tryed contact lenses and I LOVE THEM! They're easy to get in and out ( for most people ) and I don't have to constantly worry about them. They do require more work though, as you must clean them every night , but thats not a huge deal. Contacts DONT HURT AT ALL! Everyone gets scared when they learn how to get them in and out, but the doctor helps you with it. It doesn't feel like an eyelash in your eye, thats when you put them in BACKWARDS. Once you put them in the right way, after a few minutes, it feels as if nothings there. They dont hurt at all and they cant move off the very center of your eye because the way its shaped and how it suctions on your eyeball. Try them out ! They dont hurt, they're easy to use and I like them WAY better then glasses, you cant feel contact lenses AT ALL !

i think both looks nice. i used contact lenses for a few years, but they caused dry eye problem and also your retina gets thinner in long term use. so i advise you to have glasses in every case. nowadays glasses are used for as a fashion item for a more sophisticated look. you might consider changing the shape of your glasses for instance and use the lenses only for special occasions.
there are some transparent glasses for example, they are invisible and they are also so light (not heavy like normal glasses) and you dont even feel you have glasses :

you look fine both ways!! but i am going into 8th grade and have had contacts since the end of 5th grade so I know a lot about contacts. they do not hurt unless you put them in the wrong eye haha but that has never happened to me so it is rare to do so. It is weird at first putting them in and getting use to them and the first week it will take you awhile and probably feel funny because your not use to them. but it gets better trust me! after the first week you won't even be able to tell your wearing them! they can be a pain with cleaning them and such also your first month you will probably tear/rip a lot of them but you will get the hang of it! good luck!
