Nice cheap accommodation across Europe?

Next June I turn 21 and will have finished my studies at uni so me and my boyfriend are planning a trip to Europe. We want to travel with interrail and the cities we are hoping to visit are: Paris, Brussels, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Cologne, Frankfurt, Munich, Innsbruck, Trento, Venice, Verona, Florence and Rome. Obviously we are young and do not have an endless supply of money so we are looking for cheap hotels/hostels/b&bs etc in these areas and hope to avoid too many taxis etc again to save money so want to be located nearer the main attractions in these areas.

If you have travelled to any of these cities and stayed in cheap and pleasant accommodation near to the main attractions or main train stations PLEASE let me know as we want to start planning :) thanks so much x

I will definitely check out that site, especially in relation to the tour guide thing cuz we were thinking of booking some tours anyway. Thanks for the code too! That is a great help :) x

Hello,

I know a fantastic website that I've never had problems with : www.hostelworld.com. I do think it is a good website to find cheap hostels and guest houses. I often use it.

I've already been to Paris, Brussels, Cologne (I lived there), Frankfurt, Munich, Florence and Rome. You'll have a lot of fun. In France, the Châteaux de la Loire and Provence (you can take the TGV train to Aix-en-Provence or Marseille from Paris. It can be really cheap if you book at least 1 month before and the journey lasts only 3 hours) are really nice place, too.

In Europe, the main cheap airlines are: Ryanair, Easyjet, TUIfly. Trains may also be cheap. Try: http://www.thalys.com/ http://www.voyages-sncf.com/ http://www.bahn.de/p/view/index.shtml. The Thalys train is perfect to travel between Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam and Cologne.

Have fun!

The Flying Pig in Amsterdam is where a lot of backpackers go, it is well known on the interailing circuit.

Munich has a place that if I remember is called The Circus and is a large communal circus tent that is a bit different. Its only open in the summer tho.

Generally though I wouldn't worry about planning advance, you'll meet loads of people when you're travelling who'll already have been to those cities and can recommend what's good and what's not. The Rough Guide to Europe has some good stuff in it from what I remember.

Have a brilliant time, its lots of fun:)

You should check out Efcollegebreak.com. They have trips that go to almost all the places you mentioned plus they included round trip airfare, hotels, tours w/ admissions into musuems and such, transporation from airports to hotels and transporation b/w countries in their prices..plus if you use the discount code: Vincig7397 you can save even more money. When me and my g/f both graduated college we did the 30 day trip that went all over Europe and it came out to about $3000 which was really good for 30 days to go to all the differnt places. Most places we stayed in were hostels but they were basically like hotels.. we had our own room and bathroom. You get a tour guide with your tour and they bring you to all the tourist attractions and take care of most of the transporation around the city. It was a really good way to see all of europe i know we probally would not have been able to plan that entire trip ourselves so it was nice not having to plan out the entire iterinery...let me know if you have anymore questions
