How does the quick service Dining plan at Disney Orlando work and where are the best places to eat using it?

I am travelling to Disney and am staying in the Disney Port Orleans Riverside Hotel with the quick service dining plan. Does anyone know how this works/what meals I will get and whether I need to pay tips/gratuities etc. Also where are the best places to eat with the plan?
Thanks.

You get 2 counter service (quick service) meals per person for each night of your stay. You also get 2 snacks per person for each night of your stay. Each person will get a refillable resort mug that can only be filled at your resort, not the theme parks.
Since the meals are counter service, there is no need to pay tips or gratuities.

Port Orleans has a nice food court where you can use your meal credits.
Here are my favorite quick service locations:

Magic Kingdom:
Cosmic Rays has the best selection

Epcot:
Sunshine Seasons in the Land
Counter service locations in France, Japan, UK, and Morrocco.

Disney Hollywood Studios:
Backlot Express

Animal Kingdom:
I like Flame Tree but my kids love Pizzafari

Downtown Disney:
Wolfgang Puck Express
Earl of Sandwich

You can visit the disney site and print a listing of all the restaurants on property, in the parks and at downtown that honor the quick service dining plan.
We used it this year for the first time vs the "traditional" dining plan and were quite pleased. You have 2 counter service meals per night of your stay per person along with 2 snacks and the resort mug. These are the locations that you "self serve" so we did not leave tips at any of these the way you do a sit down. (We did some sit downs for special meals and just paid as we went.)
We did a lot of meals at our resort (CBR) as they have a nice selection of choices. We used Wolfgang Puck Express downtown and locations in Epcot. Very good food. You also can go to allears.net and find menus for the various locations. You really have
a lot to choose from. I would try to eat early or later than the norms just to avoid crowds.
    Have fun!

You get 2 snacks and 2 Quick Service meals a day.

Quick Service meals are basically the same as a fast food restaurant. You order and then pick up the meals at counter. Since you will not have a waiter or waitress there is no need for a tip.

Some of my favorite Quick Service restaurants are:
    Magic Kingdom:
    Pinocchio's Village Haus
    Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe

    Epcot:
    Sunshine Seasons

    Hollywood Studios:
    ABC commissary
    Back Lot Express

    Animal Kingdom:
    Pizzafari
    Yak and Yeti Counter Service

Try http://allears.net/din/dining.htm for menu's they tell you what they serve so you can look before you book!!!

For snacks you can just stop at any Ice Cream cart throughout the parks, or stop and get a soda or popcorn.
