If i go on holiday in Turgutreis, Bodrum will i be miles away from the action?

Going on hols first week of september, and have found plenty of lovely and also cheap hotels in Turgutreus, however i am aware it is around 10 miles away from bodrum town centre where one would assume all the nightlife is,
going away just me and the gf and want to be able to relax without TOO many chavs!, however we don't want to be totally isolated with little to do in the evenings. we generally don't spend much time in our hotel but we don't want to stay in a dive!
what's the opinion?
.spend more on a nicer hotel and be in central bodrum (does that place have a name?)
.spend less on the hotel and have more spending money but be in the sticks!

Thanks in advance :)

Turgetries is not in the sticks and one of the up and coming hot spots in the Bodrum peninsula. It boasts many bars and eateries and has a buzzing night life. The beach is far longer and better than Bodrum's who's beach only goes along the length of bar street. Turgetries has a fantastic market on a thursday and goes the length of many streets where you can find some brilliant bargains in clothing and souvenirs. You can book a ferry from Turgetries to go to Kos island for the day and there are many small boats doing day trips around the coast for around a tenner from the D Marina.
You can get a local mini bus (dolmus) to Bodrum and it only takes half an hour. Bodrum has the biggest out door night club in europe called the Harlakanus but is very expensive at around 20 quid to get in and around 6 quid a drink.
All in all Turgetries has all that Bodrum town has but without the culture centres.
Places to see or go :
Gumbet : for 24/7 clubs and bars and constant party atmosphere.
Ortakent : for the amazing water park (kids and adults will love it)
Bitez : for the orange mangroves and a chilly day on the beach.
Bodrum town : for the castle, ampitheater, mausoleum, windmills and saturday market (same stuff as Turgetries)
Torba : just for a chilly day.
There is so much to do in the peninsula you wont be bored believe me.
