Yes, it is a scam. No hotel manager is a doctor of any kind; the English grammar and spelling are their usual atrocious and, come on, what company just randomly sends out employment offers to people they've never met.

This is most likely a scam. You need to apply for a work visa before being able to work in Canada as a foreign resident.

These emails certainly are a scam and have nothing at all to do with the hotel involved. Although I don't see that you mention it, I bet they are using a yahoo or gmail account of some sort or perhaps another free email provider when sending out these messages. Someone last week asked here how they could get their money back after sending in a large sum in response to a similar ad. Just hit your delete button and be done with it. There is no job to be had and all this is is an attempt to get money and personal info from you so that either you can be scammed or someone can steal your ID.

Yes. It is a well known scam.

Just look up "hotel job offer" here at Yahoo! Answers. There are 779 posted questions on this issue as of my last check.

There are 37 questions posted about the *infamous "Paul Gill" person. If you checked, you would see he claims to work for several different hotels...isn't that odd?

You should NEVER trust any email that is sent to you when it has not been requested. These criminals have been operating under the name "Paul Gill" or "Rose Grand" for many months now, and their story is always the same. They claim to work for a hotel, they ask you for personal info, they claim you were selected and they just need a few hundred dollars to process your application.

Please spread the word and educate all your friends: NO CANADIAN BUSINESS SHOULD EVER ASK YOU TO PAY TO APPLY FOR A JOB. The only fees you would ever run into should be to obtain a work permit or travel visa from the Government of Canada. The only costs you should incur is if you have to buy a plane ticket to come to Canada.
