Im having a swab down below 2day and really nervous?

so i have to have swab today and really nervous it is with the nurse and the doctors and im proper scared what willl they do its just for a chlamidia check and i really dont want to go but i know i have to

It hurts like ****, they also take pictures and add it to a database! online for people to see, don't belive me ring them up..

Hey Stacey,

Its natural to be nervous, dont worry about it too much I know its hard not to. Perhaps it would help you to think that the nurses have done hundreds of these swabs and its routine for them.

It wont hurt, its just like a small scratch. The nurse will be really nice to you, just tell her your nervous. If you do have chladmidia then its easily treated with anti biotics, if you leave it untreated it could effect your fertility...so your doing the right thing.

It will be over in literally 2secs. Have you ever had a smear? Its 100 times better than that. all they do, is get a cotton bud like swab, take a sample then done.

lt dosent even take five to do it, go and do it you will feel better about yourself.

I just recently had my first check up [swab] and smear... was just as nervous as you! It's fine, sure, a little awkward but I even said to the nurse "Is it really over? Wow, people get themselves worked up over THAT?!".

Hopefully you don't get a positive for Chlamydia like I did [grr!]

Remember to the nurses and doctors you are just one of a constant stream of people they are swabbing down below.
They will have seen some truely horrible sights so you will hardly register on their radar.
But to you this is something unusual so it is making you nervous.
My advise is keep your eyes shut and think about something totally different from what is going on. Pretend you are not there.You must relax as that makes it a lot easier for all involved.
It wont take long and it is for your own good.
