You lucky thing - I LOVED LAS VEGAS!! I stayed in Luxor and it was amazing - really fantastic (the best hotel I've EVER stayed in (and I've stayed in a lot of 5* hotels. You go up to your room in a lift that goes not upwards but sideways on a slant to get to your room! (the rooms are in the pyramid. I loved opening the room door in the middle of the night because all you could hear were the slot machine sounds - you knew you weren't dreaming - you were in VEGAS!! And then as soon as you closed your door, you couldn't hear a thing!! Excellent sound proof doors!! The room was large and Egyptian style (really nice), and room service was outstanding. The food was good in the restaurants, a lot of places to choose from in the hotel. It's got about 7 swimming pools (no joke!) and a museum with a replica of King Tutankamen's tomb underneath the pyramid!!!! They've brought a lot of the artefacts from Egypt and put them in the museum. When I got home I showed my aunt the photos. My auntie who's been to Egypt said the hotel Luxor looked a lot better than the real thing!

I thought the hotel Luxor was the best hotel out of the lot, and I'm so glad we stayed there. The other hotels were nice but too busy. The Luxor was a lot quieter when we went (don't ask me why), but believe me you want it quiet. Its not very nice when its packed. The Exalibur was packed with a lot of adults and children. You must go to the show at the Exalibur, the Dinner & Show. It was awesome!!!! The Belagio was full of pensioners, and it looked pretty boring to me. They had Steve Martin's Private Art Collection exhibited when we visited there, but apart from that, the decor was pretty boring. However at the Luxor you mostly got people in their 20's - 40's.

I went there after I graduated (I was 21), and I'm glad I didn't go when I was younger because you're barred from a lot of places in each hotel if you're under 21. All the hotels are centred around the casinos so anyone under 21 has to tread carefully round the outskirts. There's security guards watching you on cameras everywhere. I was stopped in the casino in the hotel 'Paris'. Showed them my passport (which you need to carry with you at all times incase you're asked for I.D, or if you win any BIG prizes!!

There's sooooooo much to do there, and some lovely shops. We also visited the Coca Cola Museum (get an ice cream soda there - I still remember the taste of it - it was the best I've ever tasted!) and the M&M Factory (You will feel you are in the film Charlie & The Chocolate Factory! - Literally rooms of every M & M colour under the sun!!) We went to loads of shows and got on a bus and went Downtown. We also visited an Elvis gift shop which was fantastic. One of the best things I did was visit the MGM Grand next door to the Luxor where you could get your photo taken with a lion cub. They were sooooooo cute, and NEVER did I ever think I would get so close to a lion cub. They were all playing and one of the keepers handed one to me and I held him - he was gorgeous!! Of course that picture is still framed and on the wall in my lounge!!

But really the Luxor is where it's at! Try and get a flight landing or taking off at night - the lights are spectacular. Don't forget that when you're anywhere in the States, you are expected to tip EVERYBODY - even the cab drivers. So make sure you take A LOT of money!! When you arrive the sight of all the hotels (especially the Luxor) is breathtaking. Did you know the Luxor has a beam of light from the top of the pyramid which can be seen in Space?!!

Oh yeah, and one more thing. I took a lot of wedges and high heels with me and only one pair of flat shoes. I ended up wearing flats my whole visit. DON'T BOTHER TAKING ANY HIGH HEELS. You feet will be wrecking with the heat (they will also probably swell up), and the only thing that you will be able to wear are flats or trainers. So take loads of flat shoes!!

Mandalay Bay and Caesars Palace are the best so far.

Those are two good choices. Luxor would be a good choice also as it puts you in the center of the three south strip properties. Luxor has a nice buffet but stay away from the Excaliburs buffet. NYNY doesn't have a buffet. Bellagio has probably the best buffet but it is also the most expensive.

You cannot go wrong with any of these hotels. Bellagio is very nice and it has a great location. NYNY and Luxor have a younger crowd in my experience. Perhaps you should also consider to stay at MGM or Mandalay Bay if a great pool is important for you. Before you go check the current hotel promo codes on http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com - this can save a lot of money.

Personally I am a huge fan of MGM Grand It's huge, there's tons of amazing restaurants, they have a lion enclosure, the crowd is young, and the rooms are affordable. I felt there wasn't much to do at Luxor, and the theme is a bit cheesy. Depending on what days you go, you'll definitely get more of a California bleach bottle blonde crowd at Luxor on a weekend too. New York, New York was too dirty for my taste, and very dark inside. The Bellagio is beautiful, but a bit more business class oriented. You pay for the atmosphere there, so if it is in your price range and taste, go for it. If you're into shopping then try Caesar's or The Palazzo/Venetian, but they also tend to be pricier and snootier.

I went to Las Vegas in December and stayed at The Venetian. We had the cheapest kind of room and it was really nice! We also went to New York on our trip and The Venetian cost less per night than the New York hotel, which wasn't nearly as nice. To be honest though, all of the hotels on the strip look really nice, and you'll probably be too busy to worry about where you are staying! I definately want to go back to Vegas, I loved it soooooo much, but next time I won't mind paying a bit less for a hotel, it's Vegas I go for!
