What are the shower facilities like at Heathrow?

Next month, I'm flying from Dallas to London on a long transatlantic flight, arriving at 10:45 a.m. This is my first trip to London. Our hotel check-in isn't until 2 p.m. This might sound strange, but I *have* to take a shower every day in the morning or else I just feel grungy all day long. The last thing I want is to fee that way on my vacation -- so I read that Heathrow has shower facilities in Terminal 3, where the airline I'm flying on (American) flies into. Has anyone ever used the showers at Heathrow or know what they are like? Are they decent? How private are they? Is there and area for dressing, putting on make-up and using a blow-dryer? Just wanting an idea of what expect. Thanks!

Yep, check-in is at 2 p.m. I believe that 2 or 3 p.m. check-in is customary. Check-out is at noon.

I agree with the second poster; call Heathrow and ask about their showers. You'll get all of your questions answered from someone who actually works there.

Firstly, I thought most hotel check-ins were at 12noon regardless of where you are in the world? Are you sure you do not want to re-check that?

Secondly, alas,I have never heard of shower facilities at Terminal 3 and do not know anyone who has used them.

In addition to my response (the last time you asked) how about contacting your airline or Heathrow to ask them?

PS Yes 12 - 3pm check in is normal (some even later)
